Hotel 116 Bellevue Shooting – WA BELLEVUE – Police say a 25-year-old man was toying with a gun that he believed was unloaded when he died in the early hours of Sunday morning in a Bellevue hotel room.
Around 3:30 a.m., Bellevue police responded to a report of an unintentional gunshot at Hotel 116, which is located close to the intersection of Northeast 8th Street and 116th Avenue Northeast. The man was discovered in a room with a single headshot wound.

A 24-year-old woman in the room with the man told police he was playing with the gun. She asked him to stop, but he told her not to worry because the gun was unloaded. To demonstrate, he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, according to police. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, which is where he died.
The incident resulted in the death of a man and a woman who was found in a hotel room with gunshot wounds.
The suspect, identified as a 38-year-old man, fled the scene and was later apprehended by the police. The motive for the shooting is still unclear, and the case is still under investigation.
