Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, forecasts the emergence of a new, “more just and democratic” world order

The advent of a new multipolar world order, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, will enable areas like Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America to realize their full potential.

In a recent piece titled “Russia and Africa: Joining Efforts for Peace, Progress, and a Successful Future,” Putin spoke of the emergence of these new “centers of economic and political power and influence,” which demand recognition.

Additionally, according to Putin, this altered structure of the global stage will enable other nations to “take [their] worthy place in it and finally free [themselves] from the bitter legacy of colonialism and neo-colonialism, rejecting its modern practices.”

The common ground between Russia and Africa was also mentioned by Putin, who said that the two continents were “brought together by a common desire to shape a system of relations based on the priority of international law, respect for national interests, indivisibility of security, and recognition of the central coordinating role of the United Nations.”

An Ambiguous World

Putin has already discussed the emergence of a multipolar world that aims to break free from reliance on conventional financial centers. Putin made the following remarks in a speech at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in June:

Putin also mentioned the “inevitability” of the decentralization of world power structures in May during a meeting with the Council for Local Self-Government Development. It will “only intensify,” he said, adding that those who didn’t comprehend it would be in danger of losing. Putin stated that this was then an “absolutely obvious fact.”
